Fightstar

Emo Brits Fightstar teeter on the border of post-hardcore and mainstream rock. At times on their North American debut They Liked You Better When You Were Dead, Fightstar sound like counterparts to Switchfoot; other moments evoke memories of Armor for Sleep or Sunny Day Real Estate. Fightstar keep their melodies in the forefront and the heavy guitars not far behind, with high budget production through and through. It’s no surprise that the album’s first track and biggest single "Paint Your Target” was produced by someone from the Foo Fighters camp; the song is a radio-ready modern rock track. Fightstar might be a little too mainstream to proclaim its post-hardcore-ness, but it’s still a worthy listen.
