Filmmaker

An Invitation To an Accident

BY Stuart GreenPublished Mar 1, 2003

On their sophomore effort, the pride and joy of Estevan, SK have refined the glistening post-punk promise of their debut EP into a full-blown emo-rock classic. Adopting and adapting the emo hallmarks of throbbing beats, thick guitar assaults and melodic vocals into their own style, Filmmaker's sound immediately recalls the tuneful chug of Texas is the Reason crossed with the anthemic rock of the Juliana Theory. Utilising the production talents of Blair Calibaba has done wonders to capture the epic scope of their prairie pounding. When the record companies have stopped falling all over themselves trying to find the next Simple Plan and start looking for the next Jimmy Eat World, these guys should be the first to get a call. And I don't mean that in a bad way.
