Sinéad O'Connor had many people worried after she appeared distressed in a recent Facebook video, detailing her struggle with mental illness and claiming that she's "fighting to stay alive every day."

Now, fan and fellow musician Fiona Apple has reached out to O'Connor via a video message of her own.

In the clip, Apple addresses O'Connor and tells her, "I want you to know that you are my hero."

"I don't want you to feel like that, you've given so much and I wish I could be there," she continues. "I wish I could be of some use to you. I'm your friend, that's all I want to say. And you're my hero."

O'Connor has previously opened up about her struggle with mental illness, and announced near the end of 2015 that she had become estranged from her family.
