Fischerspooner

Entertainment

Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner are aging to perfection, not unlike a fine red wine. By combining Fischer's training in classical music and Spooner's lyrical flair, the New York City duo has evolved into a complex, intriguing act that synchronizes and embraces the electronic realities of the digital age with old-time notions of entertainment. This feeling is most abundant in the song "In a Modern World," which slows down the momentum of the album, which is nice considering the busy, almost theatricality of sound that is their trademark electro-thrash style. "Infidels of the World Unite" is amusingly retro, combining the electric sound effects reminiscent of a Thomas Dolby record, but with a social consciousness more aligned with our times. Overall, the album is light, digestible and very entertaining.
