The Flaming Lips love Halloween, and the psychedelic costume-enthusiasts celebrated last night (October 31) by swinging through Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform their cover of the Beatles' anthem "With a Little Help from My Friends."
The Lips were all wearing costumes, with Coyne making up one-half of a massive rainbow, and the entire stage decorated with glowing, dangly ropes. That being said, the costumes were only marginally more elaborate than a typical Flaming Lips show, and the song was a characteristically freaky take on a well-loved classic. Coyne was joined on vocals by guests Morgan Belt and Grace Potter.
The Lips just released their Sgt. Pepper's cover album, With a Little Help from My Fwends, through Warner Bros. Records.
