Lindsey Buckingham recently sued his former band Fleetwood Mac after they fired him and hit the road without him. Now, the matter seems to have been resolved, as Buckingham says the two sides have reached a settlement.
Speaking with CBS This Morning Saturday over the weekend, Buckingham said the lawsuit is over and that he and the band have signed off a deal.
"I'm happy enough with it," he said. "I'm not out there trying to twist the knife at all. I'm trying to look at this with some level of compassion, some level of wisdom."
Buckingham explained that his departure from Fleetwood Mac stemmed from a dispute with Stevie Nicks, although the band maintain that he simply didn't want to go on tour. The interview is below.
Evidently, then, Fleetwood Mac will continue to tour North America without legal obstructions from Buckingham. See their tour schedule here. Note that the Edmonton and Calgary shows have been rescheduled, and they have now added a Winnipeg concert on April 11.
The band's shows have been a little lacking in Buckingham's absence, however.
Meanwhile, Buckingham appeared on this past week's episode of the podcast Song Exploder, explaining how he wrote the song "Go Your Own Way."
