We told you about the absolutely massive and extremely cool upcoming Floor box set , Below and Beyond, back in September. Well, looks like the band - who broke up in 2004 - are as stoked as we are, as they've just announced they're getting back together to play a few reunion shows.
The doom pop band will be playing March 27 in Miami, FL, April 2 in Gainesville, FL and April 3 in Atlanta, GA. And keeping with the theme of the career-spanning box set, the band will be performing with original members from their various line-ups over the years - in chronological order. Man, this is so dorky it's almost dorkier than the box set itself, more details of which have just been released. And, it's, um, really dorky.
Three different versions of the set will be released (no specific release date yet, but a press release says it "will exist by the live dates"). Here are the details on the different formats, from the press release:
1. Deluxe vinyl edition of ten LPs, one seven-inch, eight CDs, 32-page booklet and more; completion expected in February.
2. CD standalone edition of eight CDs and 32-page booklet; available via mailorder in February, in stores and everywhere else March 30.
3. Digital download editions of eight separate albums, or one single massive collection, available in February.
