As Foals busily plot album number two, the England post-punk outfit have given us a little status update via some new song snippets. On the group's always-busy MySpace blog, Foals are currently giving away downloads of a few works-in-progress from their follow-up to 2008's Antidotes, "which is sounding less and less surf the colder it gets," says front-man Yannis Philippakis.
The semi-instrumental song clips up for grabs are the tentatively titled "A Future Dub," "A Future Dub Deux" and "XCFAVA," along with an early version of the track "Glaciers," which the band "kinda prefer actually."
While speaking of the new Foals material, Philippakis said: "Most of this stuff is me messing round late at night, lonely on a loop pedal. It's for the most part formless and semi-instrumental. Figures, I guess..."
As of yet, Foals have given no release date for their yet-untitled second album, but they say to keep an eye out for more downloadable insights into the record.
