Former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has died at the age of 44.
TMZ reports that Bryar was found dead in his home in Tennessee on Tuesday (November 26), having last been seen alive on November 4.
UPDATE (12/3, 2:28 p.m. ET): The drummer's former bandmates have now issued a statement on his passing. MCR took to Instagram yesterday (December 2) to remember Bryar, writing, "It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Bob Bryar, our former bandmate and an important part of the history of My Chemical Romance. We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this time. May he rest in peace."
A medical examiner is investigating the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected. Bryar's body had apparently gone undiscovered for quite some time.
Bryar began his career as a sound engineer for the Used and Thrice, and it was through those gigs that he met MCR and became their drummer in 2004. He left the band in 2010, having played on 2006's beloved album The Black Parade.
He remains MCR's longest-serving drummer. They haven't had a full-time drummer since his departure, instead relying on hired touring musicians.
