Forsaken

Swedish quintet the Forsaken's Manifest of Hate disc is an interesting debut. Following the footsteps of Swedish bands such as At The Gates and the Haunted - both darlings of critics and fans alike - makes the style in which the Forsaken plays really nothing new. Melodic, speedy Swedish style metal with dual lead guitars, a mixture of raspy lead vocals and backing death metal vocals; it almost seems like the band plays in a formulaic type of way. Indeed, the band is very good at what they do, it just seems like it has all be done before and perhaps better by others. I bet they kill live, though.
