Hang Your Head

BY Ronak GhorbaniPublished Dec 1, 2009

Putting Atlanta, GA straightedge on the hardcore map, Foundation's newest release, Hang Your Head, is pure mosh. Though not the most technical album, Foundation are hard-hitting from opening track "Fireproof," which features gang vocals on almost every other word. The album is full of chunky breakdowns, obvious '90s hardcore inspirations and deep, tonal, rough vocals. Lyrically, Hang Your Head is thoughtful, focusing mostly on the challenges of being straightedge, evident on "Heartless," where saying no to sexual temptation is discussed. Since forming in 2006, Foundation are all about building a community of friends and staying motivated to make a positive change in their hardcore scene. Top tracks include "Against The Wall" and "Evaporate," featuring guest vocals from Justice Tripp of Trapped Under Ice.
