Frank Ocean Receives GLAAD Media Award Nomination

After making headlines for his brave coming-out letter last summer, Frank Ocean had quite the 2012. Now, he's being honoured by the GLAAD Media Awards.

The awards, which are held in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco on March 16, April 20 and May 11, respectively, celebrate the positive and fair depiction of the LGTB community. Ocean is nominated alongside American Idol alum Adam Lambert, dance-punkers the Gossip, glam troupe Scissor Sisters and singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright in the outstanding music artist category. It's tough competition.

Says GLAAD in a statement, "This year's nominees enlighten and entertain, but also reflect a new American landscape where a growing majority accept and value their LGBT family, colleagues and friends."

It could be Ocean's last chance to win as a recording artist, but we've got our fingers crossed that it isn't.
