Freddie Gibbs and Madlib's 'Piñata' LP Gets Remixed by Alex Goose

Though we're just a couple of weeks away from the release of Freddie Gibbs' brand new project, Shadow of a Doubt, his on-again-off-again partnership with producer Madlib is also being revisited with a newly released, full-length remix album behind 2014's Piñata.

The limited-edition remix LP went up for sale today (November 9), and a statement from Madlib noted that the revamped Piñata was fully remixed by Atlanta producer Alex Goose. Apparently, the tracks have been surfacing over the last little while, but generally via the world of television. This includes a Goose-produced version of "Shame" heard on LeBron James-backed basketball comedy Survivor's Remorse.

Madlib explained:

We wanted to make Madlib and Freddie Gibbs' Piñata available for everyone that asked to use it in TV shows. So we asked the homey Alex Goose to run through the Now-Again catalog and remix it with samples from within. A year later and you probably heard some of the tunes as you were scanning the tube, maybe Alex's "Shame" remix in Lebron James' Survivor's Remorse.

Only a couple of hundred copies of the LP were made, with Madlib confirming that the Malib Invazion release will not be repressed. The record comes served up on clear vinyl, includes an Erin Garcia print, and also comes with a download code for vocal and instrumental tracks.

You can stream the "Shame" remix below, and order yourself a copy over here.

As for Gibbs' Shadow of a Doubt, it touches down on November 20. As previously reported, it features team-ups with the Roots' Black Thought, Gucci Mane, E-40, Tory Lanez and more.
