Future Islands had a massive year, touring the hell out of their Singles album and building buzz with a now iconic performance on The Late Show with David Letterman. With 2014 drawing to a close, the seasoned outfit are looking back at all the changes the year brought in a new short film called Road Dawgs.
As the title implies, visual collaborator Jay Buim's film chronicles the massive amount of travelling Future Islands took in support of Singles. As we see scenes play out on stages, tour buses, festival grounds and more, the band detail how much of a grind it can be to be away from home all the time. Singer Samuel T. Herring discusses the physical rigours of touring, noting he passed out from exhaustion in an airport ahead of an appearance at the Primavera Festival in Barcelona, but snapped back into consciousness to get on the plane to Spain.
