Compton rapper the Game has a bit of good news and a bit of bad news for fans. Starting with the bad, the MC has announced he's been forced to push back the release of his upcoming Year of the Wolf compilation (formerly known as Blood Money La Familia) to an October 14 street date through Blood Money La Familia/Fifth Amendment Ent./eOne Music. On the plus side, he also reports that he's getting ready to release a sequel to his 2005 breakthrough, The Documentary.
The Game delivered the mixed bag of info today (August 28) through his Instagram account, where he explained that he had been tied up in the studio for the last 48 hours "putting the final touches" on Year of the Wolf. As such, the arrival time for the Blood Money crew album is going to be a little later than the initially promised September 16 street date.
The rapper tried to cheer up the faithful with the additional album announcement, though. The Game reports that The Documentary 2 arrives January 18. If you're a hardcore Game fan, you may realize that perfectly lines up with the street date of the first instalment. This makes for an unorthodox release date, being that it lands on a Sunday instead of the North American industry standard of Tuesday.
"Exactly 10 years from The Documentary..... Nobody is fucking with 2 !!!!!!!!! So don't drop nowhere near me," he wrote, clearly hoping no other rapper steals his thunder by launching a project on the same day. The Sunday scheduling may save him from that.
Though song details have not yet been delivered, an interview with Power 106 [via Rap Up] had Game explaining he was getting together with producers Just Blaze, Scott Storch and Dr. Dre, all of whom had a hand in producing The Documentary.
While we wait for two albums' worth of Game material, you can check out his recent Ferguson protest single "Don't Shoot" with Rick Ross, Diddy, 2 Chainz, Wale, DJ Khaled and more down below.
