Post-punk fans rejoice: UK legends Gang of Four are getting ready to return with a new EP this spring to be followed with a new album. For now, they've shared a song called "Broken Talk."
This track was written and recorded by co-founding member Andy Gill, who now is the only remaining original Gang of Four member, in his London studio and in China. While Gang of Four's new material finds Gill working with several singers, this one features leads from John Gaoler. So yes, this means founding member and vocalist Jon King is no longer in the band.
"Broken Talk" mixes swaggering rock riffs with a disco-flavoured pulse and some distorted vocal overdubs. Take a listen below [via Pitchfork]. Expect a Chinese-language version to emerge eventually.
