Be a Criminal

BY Stuart GreenPublished Feb 1, 2002

The sophomore release from this Boston-based quartet shifts wildly from thundering emo rock to folksy pop with the greatest of ease. At times recalling Jimmy Eat World, the Weakerthans and Farside, the band also retains its own unique identity. With studio assistance from indie-rock über producer and Burning Airlines front-man J. Robbins, Be a Criminal captures the urgency of the band's live music while still being a thick-sounding, well-engineered studio recording, which is not an easy feat to accomplish.
