Genghis Tron recently announced plans to share Dream Weapon, their first new album since 2008. Before it lands in full next month, the band have provided a seriously heady standalone piece with the new single "Ritual Circle."
The sprawling 10-minute track ebbs and flows, offering explorations of post-hardcore, post-punk and even krautrock, as Genghis Tron dig into various influences.
Of the song, the band's Hamilton Jordan said, "When writing and recording this album, one of our aims was to create a deep sonic world the listener can really get lost in. 'Ritual Circle' embodies that for me — it still takes me to another place whenever I listen. Find some headphones, turn it up, and zone out."
Listen to "Ritual Circle" below.
Dream Weapon arrives March 26 through Relapse Records and is the band's first album to feature drummer Nick Yacyshyn (SUMAC, Baptists).
Pre-order Dream Weapon.
