Best known for his work with Portishead and BEAK>, as well as running the Invada imprint, musician Geoff Barrow does not enjoy being sampled without his permission. Last year, he took the Weeknd to task for allegedly lifting the beat from Portishead's "Machine Gun" on his song "Belong to the World," and now he's found similar claims with indie pop outfit Phantogram.
Over on Twitter, Barrow shared a link to the Who Sampled entry for Phantogram's 2009 track "When I'm Small." The site observes that the song samples the drums from Barrow's 2002 track "Charlie's Theme," from his project the Jimi Entley Sound.
Though they've tweeted multiple times since Barrow reached out, the band have yet to respond to his questioning. Listen to both tracks below.
Thanks to Pitchfork for the tip.

Rt. @Phantogram aren't getting back to my polite tweets asking why they sampled me without asking http://t.co/OmvtyWsut3
Must be busy?
