Geoff Barrow's BEAK> Announce Sophomore Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 2, 2012

While the wait for a new Portishead album continues, the band's Geoff Barrow has been keeping himself busy with a number of other projects. Following his hip-hop foray Quakers and his upcoming Ben Salisbury collaboration DROKK, Barrow has now announced a new album with his band BEAK>.

This sophomore LP is called >> (which isn't an HTML typo but the actual title), and it's slated to arrive digitally on June 2 via Barrow's own Invada label. The physical release will follow more than a month later on July 12.

This album follows BEAK>'s self-titled debut from 2009.

Further details about >> are still scarce, but you can hear the chugging, hypnotically repetitive new song "Yatton" below.
