Born into a musical family, it's hardly surprising that Georgia Anne Muldrow ended up as a multi-talented artist, succeeding as a vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist. What may be surprising to some, however, is how prolific Muldrow's output has been over the last few years. After releasing two albums in 2011, Muldrow is back with Seeds, which will be released on March 27 via SomeOthaShip Connect. But you can stream the album now on Exclaim.ca.
The latest offering is a departure for the experimental musician, as it marks the first of her records on which she fills only the role of vocalist. Produced by Madlib, Muldrow reflected on the change of roles, saying, "Not handling production and focusing strictly on the lyrics and vocals was a very different experience for me. It was as if I walked into someone else's world and built a hut. But I'm very proud of the hut we built and am excited about the release."
A recent press release describes the LP's inspiration as drawing upon Muldrow's "wonder about the elements of life and the interconnected nature of the universe."
