Yesterday (February 4), Swedish metal act Ghost made the headlines with the announcement of an impending North American tour, but the gang of ghouls have more news for us this week, having revealed a name change. It's a minor alteration, but the band shall now be known as Ghost B.C.
An official statement was given to Blabbermouth, which explains that they had to change their name due to "legal reasons." Ghost B.C. also highlighted the change on their website.
Sonically speaking, things should be the same as ever, though, with the band noting that their "rituals still demand the same reverence and praise, fortified through a delivery of sweetly satanic melodies, snaking distorted riffs, and vaudevillian keyboards."
The rechristened act's upcoming Infestissumam LP drops April 9 through Loma Vista Recordings, just ahead of those North American dates. You can catch the listings, which have them stopping in Canada for shows between B.C. and Quebec, down below.
