Philadelphia DIY duo Girlpool charmed us with their 2015 debut Before the World Was Big, and Harmony Tividad and Cleo Tucker have just unveiled plans for the full-length follow-up. They'll release Powerplant on May 12 via Anti-.
It finds them continuing their tradition of delivering illustrated album art, which you can take a look at above. The 12-song tracklisting, meanwhile, can be found down below.
The electric guitar- and bass-wielding twosome have prefaced the album with lead single and opening track "123." It opens almost uncomfortably quietly before erupting into a burst of energetic garage rock that showcases a fuller, drum-incorporating sound from the band. Rest assured — Tividad and Tucker's unique voices and entrancing harmonies still manage to float to the top of the mix and steal the show, though.
"123" has arrived with a video directed by Nick Rattigan, and you can scroll past Girlpool's just-announced North American tour dates to watch it down below.
