It's always just when the hype machine is going at its fastest that somewhere a small screw falls into the gears and brings the whole thing to a halt. Or least this is the case in Montreal, where breakout San Francisco band Girls have been forced to cancel their gig tonight (November 9).
It appears members of the band lost their passports and were forced to apply quickly for new ones in Boston, MA. The band hoped they would be ready in time for the show tonight, but failed to make it happen.
In a press release, the group say, "We hung on till the last minute in case the Boston passport office could turn it around quicker but to no avail."
On the plus side, the band's show in Toronto on Tuesday (November 10) is still on, so those fans looking forward to catching that one can breathe easy.
"Girls send their heartfelt apologies to all their fans in Montreal, and hope to return sometime in the near future," the press release adds.
Fans can retrieve ticket refunds at the point of purchase.
In the meantime, take solace in the fact that Girls' sophomore album is on the horizon.
