The Glorious Sons Announce 'The Union,' Map Out Canadian Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 25, 2014

After issuing their Shapeless Art EP in 2013, Kingston, ON rock crew the Glorious Sons are jumping into the full-length format with their first proper LP, The Union. The group's debut album arrives September 16 through Black Box Music.

Like Shapeless Art, the upcoming 11-song outing found the band hitting the studio with the Trews' John-Angus MacDonald to produce a series of "honest and heartfelt songs touching on themes of life, love, passion, loss and redemption." In addition to previously issued tracks "Mama" and "White Noise," the album is said to feature "fist-pumping drivers" ("Hard Times") and the "chaotic" title track.

Down below, you'll find first single "Heavy," a brawny, Bud-swilling blues-rock number.

"With this album, I wanted to create a feeling of nostalgia that would make people look back and wonder what they had missed," vocalist Brett Emmons explained in a statement. "When I picked up my first guitar, I couldn't help but sing. When I started singing, I couldn't help but write. All I want is for people to hear this album, because I feel like we've been writing it our whole lives."
