Back in October, Brighton-based sextet the Go! Team announced their new album Rolling Blackouts would drop on January 31. Since then, we have got a couple teasers out of the group via the "T.O.R.A.N.A.D.O." video clip and a sneak peak of the Bethany Cosentino-sung anti-capitalist missive "Buy Nothing Day". With the album's release date but a few weeks away, the Go! Team continue to fan the flames of anticipation with the unveiling of an upcoming tour.
While the group will take to Australia and Europe for the beginning of Rolling Blackouts' tour cycle, earlier today (January 6) the band revealed on their website that they will be taking off for North America this spring. Unfortunately for Canuck fans of the outfit, the Go! Team will only be making one Canadian stop; Torontonians can check out the giddy mash-up artists April 10 at the Opera House.
Considering the new album's collaborative slant, here's hoping that guest stars like Cosentino, Deerhoof vocalist Satomi Matsuzaki, or hyperactive rapper Dominique Young Unique show up for the occasional performance. Even if they're not present in the flesh, though, we imagine the sample-heavy rockers will blast those vocals through the monitors atop some breakbeats and guitar licks.
