Godflesh Reveal Deluxe Reissue of 'Hymns'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 11, 2012

Back in 2001, Exclaim! called industrial experimentalists Godflesh's Hymns LP their "most ambitious album yet," and now the Justin Broadrick-led crew are revisiting the collection with a two-disc deluxe reissue.

The End Records will issue the tweaked-up album on February 19, describing the record as a "challenging and inspirational slab of crushing industrial metal." The reissue will come on double-LP and double-CD, with both editions featuring a remastered version of the original album on one disc and a second platter containing demo recordings of album tracks and "If I Could Only Be What You Want" (previously delivered on the Loud Music for Loud People compilation in 2002). The reissue also comes with a booklet featuring liner notes and never-before-seen images of the band.

Hymns was the Godflesh's final LP in their original run before splitting in 2002, but the band got back together in 2009.
