It doesn't seem all that long ago that we learned of the details behind Godspeed You! Black Emperor's Luciferian Towers, but the album is now available to stream before its official release.
The record arrived today (September 14) through NPR ahead of its official September 22 release through Constellation Records. As previously reported, a press release for the record read as follows:
this, this long-playing record, a thing we made in the midst of communal mess, raising dogs and children, eyes up and filled with dreadful joy — we aimed for wrong notes that explode, a quiet muttering amplified heavenward. we recorded it all in a burning motorboat.
The band also noted that Luciferian Towers was informed by a list of "grand demands" that include:
+ an end to foreign invasion
+ an end to borders
+ the total dismantling of the prison-industrial complex
+ healthcare, housing, food and water acknowledged as an inalienable human right
+ the expert fuckers who broke this world never get to speak again
