It's been a while since fans of Goldfrapp have had something to dance about. The duo's 2008 album Seventh Tree was a subdued affair compared to the dance-oriented sound of their past albums, and their recent scoring of the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy was no more exhilarating.
Fans had better start stretching, then: Goldfrapp's fifth studio album, titled Head First, is set to drop on March 23 care of Mute Records. Recorded through 2009 and written entirely by members Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, the album's press release promises "a speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance" (sounds like maybe you'd better stretch a little longer).
The album will be preceded by first single "Rocket" on March 9 in North America.
