Goldfrapp Scoring John Lennon Biopic Nowhere Boy

It's certainly Beatlemania all over again these days, and here's one more reason for fans of the Beatles to get excited: a movie is being made about the childhood and adolescence of John Lennon, entitled Nowhere Boy.

The flick is based on Imagine This: Growing up with My Brother John Lennon, written by Lennon's half-sister, Julia Baird. And the film's score is going to be written by UK art/pop/dancey types Goldfrapp, who recently confirmed their involvement on the group's website.

Lennon and Goldfrapp is an interesting mix, but the who's who of the flick is nothing if not interesting. Here's a sample: Kristin Scott Thomas (The Other Boleyn Girl) plays Lennon's aunt and Matt Greenhalgh, who wrote the screenplay, also wrote the script for the Ian Curtis biopic, Control.

The film is set to premiere on October 29 at the London Film Festival. Yeah, London, UK, not London, ON. Sorry.

Goldfrapp's last album was 2008's Seventh Tree.
