Back in June, we reported that Chilly Gonzales was starring in and composing the soundtrack to Ivory Tower, a film he's also co-writing with French screenwriter Céline Sciamma. Now, a trailer for the film has been revealed.
Gonzales plays one of two champion chess-playing brothers (the other is Montreal DJ Tiga) battling for the affection of Marsha Thirteen (Toronto electroclash mistress Peaches). In this trailer, the audience is shown the assumed beginning of the conflict when Gonzales gives up the chance to see his girlfriend, Marsha, perform her first art piece - her "Violinstallation" - and sends his brother instead.
The clip is soundtracked by Gonzales's "Bittersuite." The track will appear on his Ivory Tower album/soundtrack, due September 14 from Arts & Crafts.
Ivory Tower will mark the directorial debut of Adam Traynor.
