Late last year, we reported that legendary French singer Serge Gainsbourg would be receiving his biopic, entitled Serge Gainsbourg: Vie Héroïque. The movie, which is now complete, was directed by graphic novelist Joann Sfar and stars Eric Elmosnino as Gainsbourg.
We also now know that Feist collaborator Gonzales is also part of the project, acting as Elmosnino's piano stand-in during musical sequences.
According to The Playlist, however, the Canadian musician, who currently resides in Paris, played no role in composing the film's score, which is credited to Olivier Daviaud. Still, cool to see him making the move to the big screen.
Also appearing in the movie are Laetitia Casta as Brigitte Bardot, Lucy Gordon as Jane Birkin (Charlotte Gainbourg's mother) and Mylène Jampanoï as Bambou. The first French-language trailer of the film can be seen at The Playlist, and it includes a brief appearance by Gonzales on piano. The trailer also contains some topless women, so please beware that it's slightly NSFW.
