Goodbye Honolulu

More Honey

Listening to More Honey, you can't help but imagine how electric, rambunctious, and fun a live performance from Toronto's Goodbye Honolulu would be. They're a garage band at heart, but the album is equipped with the slick production and punchy hooks required to be radio-friendly.

That's not to say that More Honey is watered-down rock: "Barbados Slim" and "Slip Inside Your Mind," in particular, showcase a punk-influenced sound and gang vocals, and even their poppiest track, "Typical," is rooted firmly in garage rock, even if the lyrics aren't quite as gritty or clever as the rest of the EP.

As Goodbye Honolulu's third EP, More Honey packs enough of a punch to suggest what their music connections already did: they might just be the next big thing in indie rock. They've toured with Spanish indie rock band Hinds, and, depending on the day, you just might be able to spot them in Selena Gomez's Snap story. They're not on the cutting edge or breaking any boundaries, but More Honey proves they're more than capable of stringing together some great tracks.
