Legendary Canadian folk musician Gordon Lightfoot has postponed several upcoming tour dates after suffering a fall at his home last week.
The artist underwent emergency surgery at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto for a wrist fracture, and is expected to take eight weeks to recover.
"He's doing just fine," Victoria Lord, a representative for Lightfoot told the Canadian Press. "He's still rehearsing. They're still working with the band but he obviously can't play right now."
As such, the 82-year-old has been forced to postpone several upcoming performances, most of which are scheduled for the United States this month.
One concert in his home country has been affected — a single night in Orillia, ON, at Casino Rama on August 20. That show has yet to be rescheduled.
Lightfoot's team expects that he will recover in time to tour this fall. His September appearance in Fredericton, NB, has not been postponed.
Lightfoot is also scheduled to be the first to perform at the newly renovated Massey Hall this fall, returning for three consecutive shows from November 25 to 27.
