Gorguts Unveil Their First New Album in 12 Years

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 5, 2013

Reunited death metal greats Gorguts are set to return with their first full-length in 12 years, Colored Sands. The LP brings the band back to old label home Season of Mist, and it will hit stores August 30 overseas and September 3 in North America.

Details have yet to arrive in full, but this marks the first time the Sherbrooke, QC unit will have delivered an LP since founder Luc Lemay revived the project in 2008, following a three-year hiatus. Their last studio LP was 2001's From Wisdom to Hate, which was also issued through Season of Mist. The current lineup comprises vocalist/guitarist Lemay, guitarist Kevin Hufnagel, bassist Colin Marston and drummer John Longstreth.

While neither tracklisting details nor sound samples have arrived just yet, U.S. fans will get a chance to experience the new songs in the flesh this September when the band heads out on tour. You can see the details on the mini-trip down below.

Tour dates:

9/5 Springfield, VA - Empire
9/6 Raleigh, NC - Hopscotch Festival
9/7 Wilmington, DE - Mojo 13
9/8 Worcester, MA - Palladium
