Great Aunt Ida Lines Up Canadian Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 17, 2012

Late last year, folky Canadian artist Great Aunt Ida (aka Ida Nilsen) delivered her third LP Nuclearize Me, which followed up 2006's How They Fly and was her first since a move from Vancouver to Toronto. After five years in Hogtown, though, Nilsen is looking for a change of scenery and is gearing up for a move to Detroit. But before that happens, the singer-songwriter will head out on a Canadian tour.

On the tour, the artist will be backed up by a four-piece band, and they'll kick off the trip September 2 in Thunder Bay, ON. They'll then head westward, making it as far as Victoria, BC, before stopping at her old home town of Vancouver for a two-night stand at the Kozmik Zoo. From there, Great Aunt Ida heads back east through the Prairies and Ontario. You can see all the schedule down below.

You'll also find a stream of Nuclearize Me at the bottom of the page, in case you needed some cajoling before popping up at a show.
