Don't feel like you gave prolific indie rockers Guided By Voices or frontman Robert Pollard enough money for their near endless stream of new material in 2012? Fret not, as 2013 is shaping up to be another busy year for the band.
They've already announced their first release, an EP called Down by the Racetrack, which is set to drop on January 22. It will be available on CD and 7-inch via the band's GBV Inc. imprint.
According to a press release, the record sees the band "stretching out in a way not seen since early- to mid-'90s EPs like Get Out My Stations or Clown Prince of the Menthol Trailer."
The write-up continues by describing "a particular kind of lo-fi weirdness" that includes "spooky background 'aahs'" and "drunk piano bashing."
Stay tuned for more information, and likely a great deal more record announcements as the band gear up for another busy year.
