Guided By Voices Reunion Tour Reportedly on the Way

Late last month, we revealed that indie rock powerhouse Matador Records would be celebrating their 21st anniversary with an incredible birthday party in Las Vegas. The festival is called Matador at 21, and will feature the likes of Sonic Youth, Pavement, Belle and Sebastian, the New Pornographers, Spoon, Yo La Tengo and, among others, a reunited Guided By Voices. If you can't afford a trip to Vegas in early October, however, you might be in luck, as GBV have revealed that they're also planning a reunion tour.

Buzzgrinder first pointed to Billboard sources who said that additional shows in other cities were about to be announced. Then, the Dayton Daily News interviewed frontman Robert Pollard, who explained that he's "not sure this will end after this particular tour," suggesting that more dates will likely be announced after the Matador show.

After that, though, Pollard insists Guided By Voices will be done forever. "After this has run its course, that's the end for Guided By Voices. My justification for even doing it was, we're old, but we're not completely feeble yet. We can still do it a little bit, so we better do this before that happens."

With no additional dates announced just yet, we're hoping that Guided By Voices' last hurrah will include some Canadian stops, though Dayton Daily News only writes, "GBV will follow that reunion show with some United States dates." Stay tuned for more info as it comes in.
