Guns N' Roses teed up their "Not in This Lifetime" reunion tour last year and have been steadily expanding it ever since. After all the hours they've logged on the road, guitarist Richard Fortus says planning has begun for a new album.
In conversation with podcast StageLeft [via NME], Fortus revealed that the band "haven't started recording anything, when I say that, as far as in the studio doing an album. We've been recording a lot of stuff, just ideas, assembling ideas, but not going into a studio and actually tracking a new record."
He continued, "It's sort of too good not to happen at this point, that's how I feel about it. This band is really a force right now, and I definitely hope that we do, and I think we're all sort of counting on it, and we're also planning on it."
Fortus has been a member of the band since 2002. Guns N' Roses brought guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan back into the fold last year for the first time in two decades.
The band will hit Toronto on the "Not in This Lifetime" tour this fall, and you can get the details of that show and their other upcoming dates here.
