France’s Gurkkhas sport an image that portrays them as a bunch of war-ready mercenary types. Battle ready soldiers from France? Yeah, right. The French are hardly known for their military prowess, and they’re hardly known for much in the world of metal either, a point which this trio exhibits by loading their triggered drum-kit and detuned axes before plundering the back catalogue of just about any death metal that’s dared release an album since 1992.
