Halifax's Starhood Climb the "Stairmaster"

The song targets "the executive floor, the suits who can't see beyond value for shareholders, and the powerbrokers who enable them"

Starhood — the Halifax-based indie rock project — have shared their third single. "Stairmaster" is an introspective number that digs at the top one percent.

Written by Exclaim! contributor Liam McPherson and Jonathan Krupski, the track's refusal to climb the corporate ladder refers to "the executive floor, the suits who can't see beyond value for shareholders, and the powerbrokers who enable them," as Krupski puts in a press release.

McPherson added that the song "was a good model to express what we've been feeling and seeing for a long time. The way things are run is not working for anyone except at the top: the little guy's interests aren't being served."
