Hannah Georgas

'Hannah Georgas' (album stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 2, 2012

Hannah Georgas's debut album, 2010's This Is Good, made the Vancouver songwriter one of Canada's most sought-after up-and-coming talents. Now, she is preparing to follow it up with her self-titled sophomore album. The album drop today (October 2) via Dine Alone Records, and you can stream the entire thing at Exclaim.ca.

The album finds Georgas experimenting with more electronic and atmospheric textures than were found on her previous, guitar-oriented folk pop material. While tracks like "Enemies" and "Robotic" don't mark a huge departure in terms of melody or structure, the sonics have been transformed -- something that's partly thanks to the production work of Holy Fuck's Graham Walsh.

Among the guest contributors who helped Hannah to create her new sound are Ryan Guldemond of Mother Mother, Loel Campbell and Tim D'eon of Wintersleep, Joel Stouffer of Dragonette, Dean Drouillard of Sarah Harmer's backing band, and Shad.

To learn more about how the record was created, read our interview with the singer here.

As previously reported, Georgas will team up with Mother Mother for a Canadian tour, whose date you can see here.

And of course, listen to the album below.
