Hannah Georgas recently landed Polaris Music Prize and Western Canadian Music Award nominations for her 2012 self-titled album. Now, the Vancouver songwriter has rolled out a music video for the album track "Shortie."
The song is a flirty pop number, while the video finds the singer hanging out by her lonesome while sporting a Looney Tunes T-shirt and a blinged out "HG" necklace. She brushes her teeth with some evidently psychotropic toothpaste, since her stuffed gorilla comes to life and she sprouts a unicorn horn on her forehead. From there, the video is a weird trip involving streamers, glow sticks and masked extras on trampolines.
Co-director Kyle McCreight said this in a statement: "It was such a pleasure to work with Hannah and Justice [McLellan] on this video, we had a jam packed first day of shooting at two locations across Toronto. We ended the shoot at a facility filled with trampolines and that was probably the best location I have ever shot anything in. Never have I seen so many genuine smiles on set."
Hannah Georgas is out via Dine Alone Records.
