Prowling the crowd and playing all the photographers, Haviah Mighty had Toronto in the palm of her hand as she rolled out cuts from this year's Flower City EP. Her trap-bolted love letters to Brampton hit day campers hard and penetrated 6ix-dwelling consciousness on reverberant paths that ricocheted off the Sherbourne Common's still uninhabited condo projects and deep into the city.

Living up to her name, Mighty outlifted everyone on site. This was easily the most kinetic performance Wavelength saw all day (August 19), as she ducked and weaved through the pit like a boxer, switching from kinetically rapped bars to sung vocals on high kick cues, all while getting up in everyone's lens, only making short visits to the stage to stir up tracks.

It's not the first time the suburbs have outdone the local talent, so when the Brampton MC announced the Drake remix of EP track "On the Low" late in the set, it felt like a calling card. Drizzy, if you're reading this, it's not too late.
