It's actually here: the last day of January. Some of us thought we may never live to see it, but it's upon us at long last! This calls for celebration; it's the last concert of Exclaim!'s Class of 2025 series in Toronto tonight, and artists from across the country are making some noise with the week's best new Canadian music.
Class of 2024 grads La Sécurité are back with an ode to the world's most complimentary condiment with "Ketchup," while Jessie Reyez leans into an R&B sound that's larger than life on "GOLIATH."
The big album-release story of the week is obviously the (alleged) final album from the Weeknd, Hurry Up Tomorrow. Jann Arden's Mixtape covers project has also arrived, as well as highly anticipated albums from Charlie Houston, N NAO, Featurette and Gus Englehorn.
You can also find plenty more to toast to — whether you've survived Dry Jan or merely January itself — with new music from Pierre Kwenders, Jonathan Personne, Ribbon Skirt, Shiv and the Carvers, Alyson McNamara, Casper Skulls, Total Fucking Darkness, Bells Larsen, Hanorah, Mares of Thrace and more.
Raise a glass of literally whatever to a less apocalyptic-feeling February with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken — all Canadian and proud of it!
