With Black Mirror's San Junipero episode now firmly lodged in our collective brain as a true TV classic, its soundtrack from Clint Mansell has finally seen release. Arriving today (December 2) via Lakeshore Records, you can now stream the entirety of the score.
Via Spotify you can listen to all of the San Junipero soundtrack below. Sonically, it finds Mansell weaving delicate synthscapes, heavy on atmosphere and sombre melodicism. A bit unfortunately perhaps, though, it does not close with a Belinda Carlisle's frighteningly appropriate "Heaven Is a Place on Earth."
The San Junipero episode was written by Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker and directed by Owen Harris. It stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis and Denise Burse, who help tell the love story of two women who defy the laws of space and time.
Hear Mansell's moving work for yourself in the player below. It's out now digitally, with a vinyl version also reportedly due out.
