Toronto dream-pop artist Poolblood is preparing to release their latest EP, Yummy, on November 8 via Accidental Popstar Records, but first they're dropping a new single exclusively through Exclaim! titled "I'm Sorry."

The 20-something Torontonian behind Poolblood is Maryam Said, describing themselves as "a Cancer sun/Capricorn rising/Virgo moon who grew up on pop-punk."

The EP was recorded with Accidental Popstar Records founder Shamir in just three days. Right after losing their job and taking a megabus to Philadelphia, the EP was put together and inspires feelings of "crying, dancing, teen movies and nostalgia," they say. "The process included a lot of memes, love and Shake Shack."

Speaking on the new single, Poolblood recalls the ease with which "I'm Sorry" came together and what it means to them.

"I wrote this song when I was 20 and it's really interesting to see how it's evolved. I remember writing it at 10 in the morning and recorded it on the first take. Probably my most emotional song to date, it's also an ode to every water sign."
