Zulu have shared a new cover of a Slipknot classic. The Los Angeles hardcore crew have served up their take on the masked outfit's "Wait and Bleed," which you can hear down below.
The "Wait and Bleed" cover arrives as part of Zulu's entry in the collaborative Frequency x Spotify Singles release series in celebration of Black Music Month. Navigating the track's twisting grooves with ease, one gets the sense that the five-piece had a blast powering through it.
Zulu share of their song choice, "Honestly, some of us kind of naturally thought of either Slipknot or System of a Down for some reason, and we ended up going with Slipknot. It's funny how we all naturally shared that same thought."
Zulu also get together with King Isis to push their original "Shine Eternally" into funkier territory, following its appearance on their full-length debut A New Tomorrow, which arrived in March. You can hear both tracks in the player below.
A New Tomorrow features guest spots from members of Soul Glo and Truth Cult. The LP was previously highlighted as part of Exclaim!'s Staff Picks.
