In case you needed even more proof that summer festival season is right around the corner, Heavy Montreal has rolled out the lineup for its 2014 edition, and the sixth annual instalment of the fest is looking mighty stacked.

Topping the bill at the heavy-minded event, which takes place at Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau on August 9 and 10, are Metallica, who will perform their only show in North America this summer at Heavy Montreal, organizers boast. To add to that, Metallica will be playing an all-request show, with a setlist that will be picked by festivalgoers, who will be able to send their request to the band via special codes given out upon ticket purchase.

However, that's hardly all Heavy Montreal has in store. Also lined up to play the fest are Slayer, the Offspring, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Fucked Up, Bad Religion, D.R.I., Three Days Grace, Dropkick Murphys, Pennywise, Bat Sabbath (Cancer Bats' Black Sabbath tribute), Body Count, Monster Truck, Protest the Hero, Madball, Apocalyptica, Hatebreed, Exodus, Grimskunk, Alestorm, Whitechapel, Biblical and more.

See the complete lineup here.

The press sheet states: "A fourth stage will be added this year in order to showcase more artists, including many local bands, and to maximize the festival experience for the fans. And, after a ton of success last year, the HEAVY MANIA wrestlers will return to HEAVY MONTRÉAL this summer."

More details are to be announced over the next few months, but for now, weekend passes go on sale March 7, and you can get more information at the festival website.
