If you've been searching for the perfect mellow acoustic soundtrack to your summer, look no further than Hein Cooper. The Montreal-via-Sydney, Australia musician worked with some pretty impressive names for his debut LP The Art of Escape (Marcus Paquin of Local Natives, the National and Arcade Fire fame, for example), and has been on a consistent touring streak in both his native land and here in Canada. We caught up with the indie songsmith during a stop at Festival d'Été de Québec for an acoustic performance of "Rusty."
Propped up against a rock, Cooper lightly strums his guitar, issuing a sweet melody in his smooth, rich vocals. The tree branches blowing in the background and serene natural light peeking through give the already beautiful song a fully atmospheric visual experience.
